Knights At Worcester Art Museum

The Knights exhibit has finally opened at the Worcester Art Museum. It features a small portion of the armor and weapons from the recently closed Higgins Armory Museum. There are many other additions to this exhibit other than those items though. The director of the museum wanted to elaborate on certain themes in certain parts of the exhibit like love and war, good and evil, and the contrast of beauty in weapons as oppsed to their dangerous nature.

Here is the only full suit of armor that the Higgins collection had. Most of the other armor had a few pieces missing due to all sorts of reasons. I am not entirely sure why it is riding a pink horse. Some call it Floyd, I call it Pinkie Pie.

There is also a video of an old black and white movie being projected onto the wall in the background here. It loops around all day long.

As you can see, there are certain pieces of artwork incorporated into this exhibit that were from the art museum's collection. Some of them help give a contrast to the aggressive nature of the armor.

The director wanted to incorporate Batman into this exhibit. He wanted to show the fantasy armor has given inspiration to even today.

We do have this $3000 comic book, and we do have one of Micheal Keaton's Bat Man Suits from the Tim Burton movie.

This exhibit will be open for a few months, and then it will be closed for a while again. I highly recommend visiting it. Next Saturday the museum has free admission until noon.

Currently there is very little of the collection from Higgins on display, but more will be introduced to the museum's art collection over time.

deCordova Art Museum

I went to the deCordova Art Museum in Lincoln Massachusetts after coming home from Anime Boston this past Sunday. There were many interesting , contemporary pieces of artwork inside the main building. There were also separate buildings for classes and the museum shop.

Mainly, this museum has a very interesting outdoor sculpture park surrounding the whole entire area. It may have been very cold outside and there were certain areas that were still covered in snow or mud, but it was still an enjoyable experience. Perhaps I will go again at some point with a friend on a warmer day when I have more time to explore.

I did not record the descriptions of the art pieces, but considering these are abstract for the most part, I will leave interpretations up to you the audience. I was recommended by a friend to visit this place, and I recommend others as well.
