Page 63, not Quite Finished

Here is page 63 of Zheph Skyre, though it is not quite finished. I still have to add some color here and there.

Also, I found out that Sunday is the only day available for PAX East registration, so I have decided not to go to that.

Anime Boston Vs PAX East

I am definably going to Concord's Anime Convention, Connecticon whether or not I get to host a panel on my web comic. I might even try to get a table in the Online Media area if it is possible.

I am still trying to decide whether or not to go to Boston's video game convention, PAX East or Boston's Anime convention, Anime Boston. One of the reasons for my debate is because of how low my personal funds are right now. I still love going to these types of conventions though.

I will not go to Anime Boston unless I get a panel, an artist alley table, or both. I just don't see as much that I like at that convention anymore. Besides that, I want to be contributing to the conventions rather than just spending my money. I am getting to that age when I should be doing that. Besides, I am an artist in need of work and publicity.

I am not sure whether or not to go to PAX East. If I do, it probably won't be for the entire three day weekend. PAX East has a price of $70 compared to most conventions having a price of $40 to start with. I might go for two days. I can't seem to find any registrations for panels or art displays of any sort on their website.

Anime Boston's Yōkai Art Contest Results

I forgot to mention that the results for Anime Boston's Yōkai Art Contest results have been posted on their website with all of the other submissions in a gallery. I suggest everyone to check it out. The winners' work look awesome, but there are a lot of good ones in the gallery including mine.

I have filled out an Artists' Alley application, but I have not heard back if I have a space. I'm hoping to get informed as soon as possible because I want to go to PAX East if I don't get this Artists' Alley table. Unfortunately there is a time limit on reservations for PAX East.

Anime Boston Tomorrow

Tomorrow after work I will be going to Anime Boston 2012. If you have heard, it is from Friday to Sunday at noon, but since the registration lines get to be so long every year they have the Haynes Convention Center open an evening early just so that people can get their passes and skip on the lines. It has gotten that ridiculous. I had waited one year in line for nearly three hours even after preregistering online. The line is just for a machine to scan the bar code on your printed registration form and then they print out the badge. It can get ridiculously long with 10 thousand people.

I keep forgetting to bring my camera each year, so I never seem to have any photos to share, but this year I will take photos with my camera. They probably won't be the best pictures in the world, but I can at least share them online with good enough resolution.

I have tried to get an Artists' Alley Table this year, but they ran out of space very quickly. This morning I got an email that one table is open because there was one drop, but you have to purchase the table space at the convention. If only I had known sooner and I could have prepared something special. It still might be a long shot, and the only thing I might be able to do is Anime charactactures. I will at least bring my business cards so that hopefully I can get a space next year.

PAX East will also be this weekend. It is a smaller convention so unfortunately they had a limited registration number. I'm a little sad that I will be missing out on that.

I have been revising a cosplay outfit that I will wear to this year's Anime Boston. I will show a picture of it on this blog.

Anime Conventions

Next Week is Anime Boston 2012 and also PAX East 2012, which is a convention for video games. I am currently signed up for Anime Boston for all three days, but I plan to go to PAX East for Saturday too. They are both in Boston just down the road from each other.

Here are two cosplayers from a past year at Anime Boston. This image was provided by publishersweekly.com.

I am also planning to go to Connecticon 2012. It is going to be from July 13th to 15th. Hopefully they will accept me for their Artists' Collony. I know they have not began the registration for that since they have it on their website. It also just happens to be on my 26th birthday! Also, Doug Walker from That Guy With the Glasses will be there, so I am looking forward to that.

I might also go to New York's ComicCon in October, but I am not sure yet.

Chocolates & Anime Boston

(This image is from godiva.com.)

I have recently made a batch of chocolates again. The four flavors are mint crunch, peanut butter, raspberry vanilla, and orange vanilla. Last time the peanut butter chocolates were perfect, but the other three were just a complete mess. Last time I tried making the cream filled centers of the mint, raspberry and orange with milk instead of condensed milk, and I found out this time just how different those two types are. It is necessary to read up on certain recipes even if you don't follow it completely.

I know Valentine's Day has already passed, but I still feel like I owe a few close ones some treats. Also, I hope to sell a few of this perfected batch.

Anime Boston sent me an email declaring that the Artist Alley is full and that the only way anyone else can get a space is if more people drop out or are willing to share a table. I think I might just go to PAX East instead at this rate. I have been to Animke Boston for years, but maybe a change of pace would be good.
