Page 112 of Zheph Skyre is Finished and Both Web Pages are Finished

Here is page 112 of Zheph Skyre and my web pages are both back up. It took some time talking to technical support, but I finally got things settled.

We now take a look at some knights on the wall. They are all bored as they are ordered to stay watching out for the city, but what does the king expect them to have to defend against? Well, there is definitely something coming now that they will have to defend against, but will they really be able to?

Web Comic and Portfolio Site Issues

Currently I am in the process of transferring my websites to a single account yet keeping two domains on Godaddy.com, but it seems to be tougher than I thought. Hopefully I will get this sorted out as soon as possible. The next page of my web comic will be posted in time though.

Page 75 of Zheph Skyre & Portfolio Update

I have uploaded the next page of Zheph Skyre, but the latest page of this web comic have had a lot of detail and I have been very busy lately with the 24 Hour Game Jam and organizing a vending table for Anime Boston. That means that this page has no color currently and no text. I will fix these details as soon as possible.

I have managed to upload my latest two designs to my portfolio page, but I have lost the links to my store in the process. I will try to fix that too.

Flora at WAM & My Cafe Press Store

Flora in Winter is coming back to the Worcester Art Museum this Thursday. It shall be interesting to see all of the floral arrangements. I will take as many pictures as I can.

Unfortunately the Kennedy to Kent State exhibit is closing this Sunday, so unfortunately this upcoming week is the last to see it.

I have finished my Cafe Press store for the moment, and I have attached buttons to the store in my portfolio website. I have yet to create buttons for them in my web comic site, but that will not take long.

College Design Remade Digitally & CafePress

Here are two designs I made in a class I took at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth. They were entirely made with cut pieces of paper. The assignment was to take four colors on one square, cut them each into four squares, cut those pieces into four separate pieces each while maintaining the same repeating shapes, and arrange them into a particular pattern. We had to do this with two separate whole squares, but with separate designs and different colors. I decided to go with fiery colors for one while creating cool colors for the other. I was very pleased with the results.

Unfortunately I was not pleased with the quality of these two designs. I decided to scan them into the computer and remake them in Illustrator. I am now wondering if I should have these designs repeating eight more times
in order to create a larger pattern. I think I will try it and see how it comes out. If I am pleased with the results, I will post these two in my portfolio.

Also, I am currently putting together a CafePress Store instead of what I have right now for my web comic site. This would have many more options of what people can buy to have printed, and it would save me a lot of time, money, and shipping in order to keep a store up. This store will be available on my portfolio page and my web comic page. I won't be able to use all of the images I have on my portfolio page, as some of it is considered copyrighted. I am considered using every page of my web comic series as prints though.

Page 31 is Finished & the Future for my Portfolio Website

I have colored in and placed text on page 31 of my web comic, Zheph Skyre.

I used the same font size from the previous pages for this one, but since I used a larger page to draw on, the text appears to be smaller. In the end, I think this would be better because I want certain characters to speak a lot and the larger text was getting in the way.

I am not sure why my newer videos are not working on my portfolio website, but I can not go on without my latest animations unable to be shown. I believe I will have to create buttons to click on in my portfolio that will open the animations to a new window. It seems to be the only choice.

Page 27 of Zheph Skyre has Been Uploaded

I have uploaded page 27 of my Zheph Skyre web comic. Here we see Jacques is getting furious with Jahovac, but it appears that Jahovac won't take any verbal abuse from anyone, even his employer. Zheph appears to be alright from the blow of Jahovac's sword.

My portfolio webpage has been experiencing some difficulties lately. I know the SWF movie file I have of my portfolio works on my computer, but when I upload it to www.godaddy.com, it doesn't work. I will have to contact them in order to find out what is the matter with it. I can not begin to apply to animation jobs when my website is not working properly.

September 2012 11 Second Club Animation Submission

Here is my 11 Second Club animation I submitted for September 2012. I know that I didn't complete the mouth movement and a few small details here and there, but I know for certain that this animation has some better qualities than some of my other animations. I probably won't get that good of a rating for the September submissions, though there were quite a few that were terrible compared to mine, but that no longer matters. I will finish this animation as soon as possible, post it on my portfolio page, and start submitting my resume to animation and website companies again.

20x200.com

My mother gave me this article to read from Better Homes and Gardens. If she didn't tear this sheet and write my name on it, I would have never even seen it because I never read Better Homes and Gardens. I myself don't usually have a need to.

However, this article is about Jen Beckman, founder and CEO of 20x200.com. Supposedly this article says that Beckman had started an online gallery for homeowners searching for inexpensive art and new artists seeking exposure. I visited this website to see if that were true, but currently they are not taking any submissions. It appears that this website company is currently stocked with artwork. However, the article does say that the website will have a rotating selection, so eventually they might need more artwork. Nevertheless, I submitted an email with a link to my portfolio website attached to it.

I am not entirely sure 20x200.com will accept my current work, as the website doesn't have fantasy or science fiction artwork as a category. It is a website for home friendly artwork.

Web Comic Title Page Finished!

Here is the finished image for the title page of my web-comic. Unless if I hear any really convincing recommendations to change certain details, I am going to leave this as it is. Feel free to see this image at www.jdaltobelli.com/webcomic.

I will also have this image on display on my portfolio website.

Portfolio Website Updates

I have made some more updates to my portfolio website. I have added the image of my two water dragons and I have added three more animation videos to my collection. Feel free to check it out.

I have also put out a new order for some more canvases with my dragons printed on them. I will have them posted for sale on Etsy as soon as I can.

Dragon Painting

Here is an acrylic painting I made in college for a project. We were told to choose an opera to make a poster for. Out of all of the choices, I went with "Siegfried." I don't know much about it, but I did some research and discovered it is a story with a hero defeating a dragon with a chosen sword. I personally don't care for the human figure I painted, but I love how the dragon, the mountains, and the sky turned out. I have it framed and am willing to sell it.

This is an image of the painting that I played around with in Photoshop. I think it is interesting to see how it would look with different color schemes. This picture can bee seen on my portfolio page as well.

Updates To My Portfolio Site

I just want to clarify, not everything I wanted to update to my portfolio site has been done, but I have it updated anyways. I know that there is still a lot more that can be done, but I have been busy lately and I know what I have improved so far is much better than what I had there before.

I was able to improve quite a few of the animated buttons, I have two pages for my still pictures, I have changed the wing designs around the star, I have put a skip button on the welcome page just in case people want to skip the intro, I have improved the intro, and I have put up two new animations in the storyboard section and the animation section.

I still have to improve some of the intro animations, put up some more pictures in the animation section, update the references section, and post a video of my 11 second animation when it is done.

Been Busy with Portfolio

I'm sorry I didn't post anything yesterday. I've been really busy with trying to fix my portfolio website lately.

I know that the animations that make up the buttons on my website are a little lacking, so I've been improving them. In turn, I will also improve the opening and include a skip button that will allow the viewers to enter my website without watching the intro if they want to.

There will also be new content available soon. Mostly there will be new images, but there will also be a new animation soon.
