"Looking at the Stars" & Events at WAM

The Worcester Art Museum is very busy over the holidays.

Every Sunday there is a Christmas Concert in the Renaissance Court. Each Sunday there is a different group performing, like the Merrimack Valley Ringers and the Worcester Brass Consort. Every group sounds beautiful.

On New Year's Eve, the Worcester Art Museum is open until 6:00 for First Night Worcester. The museum used to stay open until a later, but considering the employees and the fact that many people are drinking heavily on New Year's Eve, they have decided for the best to close at an earlier time. This year New Year's Eve falls on a Tuesday, so everyone, including me, has to come in for work, but we are only coming in from 3:00 to 6:00. I am so happy about that because we have had long days on New Year's Eve and that usually ruins the celebration for us all.

The waterfall prints have been replaced in the Japanese exhibit by prints made by Imamura Yoshio called Looking at the Stars. As you can see, they are comprised of mostly dark, earthy colors. In my own opinion, some of them are a bit weird, but there are some parts that are enjoyable.
